German Content Manager
- On-site
- Berlin, Berlin, Germany
- Marketing & Brand
We’re looking for an experience kita specialist, who knows exactly what day to day Kita life really looks like and can take that knowledge and turn it into content that actually moves people.
Job description
If there’s one thing for sure: you understand kitas.
You know exactly what day to day Kita life really looks like. You understand the difference between a öffentlicher and a freier Träger without blinking. You know what keeps Kita-Leitung up at night and what they wish more people understood about their work.
And on top of that? You know how to take that knowledge and turn it into content that actually moves people.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to talk.
We're looking for a German Content Manager to become Famly's biggest expert on the German Kita landscape - and use that expertise to build the kind of brand that makes Famly famous country wide
And who are Famly?
Famly is a software platform for the grown-ups in a young child’s life to connect, share their workload, and learn about early childhood. Basically, Famly makes life easier for early educators, Kita managers and families across more than 10,000 sites - so that they can get back to what matters.
We’re looking for someone who has worked in or with kitas in Germany, perhaps as Kita Leitung, Fachberatung, or within träger leadership. You’ll be Famly's eyes and ears in the German Kita world, staying close to customers through research, interviews, and in-person events. What’s more, you’ll serve that insight to our product and commercial teams and turn it all into a content strategy that makes Famly famous country-wide. You'll decide what we publish, why, and how it reaches the right people. That means sourcing and partnering with influential voices in the Kita space, writing and producing content across formats - articles, thought leadership, guides, video - and thinking distribution into every single piece.
We’re looking for someone based in Berlin, or willing to work remotely from elsewhere in Germany.
What you'll be doing
Becoming the go-to expert on the German Kita market across the whole Famly team knowing what staff care about, what problems they need solving, how they talk, and what's changing in the sector
Proactively surfacing market and customer insights to the commercial, product, and marketing teams
Owning the German content strategy - planning what we publish, in what format, and how it gets to our audience
Sourcing and partnering with influential external voices in the Kita space to create content that reaches their audience and ours
Writing and producing blog posts, thought leadership, guides, and video content
Writing product updates, release notes, and customer communications for German customers
Being a recognisable, credible presence in the German early childhood sector
Job requirements
You'll thrive in this role if you:
Have real knowledge of the German Kita landscape - through working in or alongside Kitas, as Fachberatung, consulting, or similar (strongly preferred)
Are a strong researcher and interviewer, able to extract and synthesise insight from customers and the market
Write well across formats - long and short
Understand editorial and content fundamentals: strategy, SEO, distribution, and channels
Are proactive, high-agency, and happy to coordinate independently across teams
Have a massive bias for action and getting stuff done
Genuinely care about early childhood education and the people who work in it
While we’d love someone who has experience in the arena doing this type of work, we appreciate that everyone brings something unique. If you don’t tick every box above, to hell with it - apply anyway. We’d still love to read your application.
And who are Famly?
You’re probably wondering at this stage, and Famly are...? Well, it all began when our co-founder Henrik’s daughter was ready to start at daycare. He couldn’t believe the amount of work being done on paper - and how distant he felt from his first child during the day. The paper ‘parent’ books they exchanged once a month just weren’t cutting it. Together with his friend, our co-founder and CEO Anders, they set about solving that.
These days, the 170+ of us building Famly talk about trying to do one thing. Giving children the best possible start to life. Or rather, making it easier for the 10,000 nurseries and childcare centers who use Famly every day to that, on our behalf.
We do it with the world’s first Early Childhood Platform, software that brings hundreds of thousands of parents closer to their child’s day while they’re away from them. We also make financial, pedagogical, and planning tools for more than 104,000 childcare professionals in the UK, US, Germany and 15 other countries, saving them hours and reducing their admin stress.
Ultimately, that gives them more time and headspace for the little ones that really matter.
The interview process looks like:
A quick chat with our People Partner in Brand, Neeta
A quick logical test
A 1-1 interview with Matt, Sr. Director of Brand and Comms
A short assignment
An assignment review and case interview with Matt, Levke, our German Marketing Manager, and Gaspard, our Director of Revenue Marketing.
(Hopefully) an offer!
You’ll love working here because we have:
A clear career framework and coaching to make sure you’re growing, a $1000 personal development budget and a ‘We’ll buy you any book you want’ policy.
We’re all about hiring clever people who are good humans too. It means Famly is full of top thinkers and generous teammates waiting to help you shine.
A value of ‘make your colleagues shine' is all about breaking down silos, celebrating one another, and staying connected across departments, offices, and oceans.
We like to give a lot of ownership both in terms of responsibility and freedom to try new, challenging tasks.
Top-notch work equipment (including noise cancelling headphones for those focus periods!).
We're looking to fill the position as soon as possible, so get your application in today by sending us:
Your CV and cover letter covering what speaks to you about the role and what you can bring - in any form you like
We look forward to hearing from you!
